Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is designed to lighten the colour of the outer layer of your teeth which is known as enamel.
It also helps remove discolouration and stains caused by various factors like high tobacco consumption, smoking, drinking dark beverages like tea, coffee, and red wine.
Whitening can be done at home or at our dental practice. An initial assessment and cleaning will be required to be done to ensure removal of the bacterial film, food, substances that build up. Dental problems such as tooth decay, reseeding gums, general sensitivity must be treated before whitening. The whitening agent can pass through it. Significant whitening can be achieved in the vast majority cases.
What to expect after whitening?
The main cause of concern for some patients is occasional transient sensitivity to hot and cold drinks. The sensitivity will usually subside within 1-2 days, in very rare cases it persists. We recommend using desensitizing toothpaste during the first few weeks of your whitening.
